Ruby is a precious and quite expensive red stone with a high hardness (9/10). The colors of this gemstone range from bright red to dark red and even purple-red.

Garnet is a fairly durable red stone that is affordable and also ideal for everyday rings.

Coral is an opaque bright red stone that is often used for necklaces and bracelets, but rarely used as a ring stone due to its insufficient hardness (3.5-4/10).

Tourmaline is available in many different shades of pink, including two and three-color stones.

Morganite is the pink variety of Beryl. This soft-pink stone is not widely available but has a particularly good hardness (7.5-8).

BLUE STONES

Moonstone is a mineral with a bluish-white shimmering effect. This phenomenon is known as adularescence and is the result of the Moonstone's unique structural pattern.

Kyanite is a blue stone with a vitreous luster. It is known for its variable hardness, i.e., when cut perpendicular to the long axis it has a hardness of 6-7 on the Mohs scale, but when cut parallel to the long axis its hardness is only 4-4.5.

Sapphire is a stone that can vary in color from light to deep blue. A corundum of gem quality, Sapphire is incredibly hard and durable, with a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale.

Aquamarine can vary in color from a natural blue to a bluish-green and is as transparent as water. The stone has excellent hardness and durability.

Iolite is a blue stone with a fairly high hardness (7-7.5/10). When cut properly, Iolite is usually a translucent lilac to purplish-blue in color.


GREEN STONES

Emerald is the most famous and iconic green stone that is often found in jewelry. It has a good hardness of 7.5-8/10.

Tsavorite is a rich, bright green mineral of great purity.

Peridot is a light green stone that is transparent and has a color reminiscent of fresh grass or olives.

Apatite is a green stone with a cold hue. It is rather soft (5/10), and as a result is not usually popular with jewelers.

Green Agate is a translucent or opaque gemstone with a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. It can come in large sizes of various cuts and shapes at very reasonable prices.

BLACK STONES

Black Tourmaline is the most famous and common of black stones. Nearly all tourmaline is black, so it is one of the most accessible varieties of tourmaline. It is worth saying that black tourmaline comes in large sizes, which gives it an advantage over other black stones.

Black Quartz. Agate and Onyx are the most common black quartz gemstones, with both black agate and black onyx being relatively affordable.

Black Obsidian is a stone formed by lava displaced from volcanoes. The black variety of obsidian also forms white clustered crystals, resulting in a unique black glass effect with snowflakes.

Amethyst is the most common of purple stones and is available in many different shades, the most valued of which is the deep purple Amethyst.

Purple Sapphire ranges from a pinkish-purple to a cool purple. Some purple Sapphires also have the ability to change color under different lighting conditions. This stone has excellent hardness, luster, color, and durability, but the larger sizes come with a larger price tag.

Spinel is another variety of stone that can be found in purple. Ranging from a reddish-purple to a cool grayish-purple, this stone has a beautiful luster and a strong level of hardness.

BROWN STONES

Smoky Quartz vary from a misty gray through to dark brown. Its unusual color gives jewelry items a spectacular and mysterious look.

Tiger's Eye is another variety of quartz that is a golden brown color. An opaque stone, that carries golden yellow stripes throughout.
