Chlorite Quartz Necklace “Seaworld”
An Underwater World in Silver - Lodolite with Octopus, Coral and a Sapphire Shell
Seaworld begins as a hand-sculpted wax model in our Bali workshop. The composition is built element by element before casting: the stone setting, the octopus on one side, coral branches on the other, sea flora filling the frame, and a seashell below - all carved in wax, then cast together in oxidized 925 sterling silver and finished by hand.
The stone is a 28×16mm lodolite - also called chlorite quartz or garden quartz - hand-selected for the quality of its inclusions. Lodolite forms with mineral deposits and chlorite clouds trapped inside clear quartz, creating an internal landscape that shifts with the light. At this size, those inclusions become a composition of their own.
The octopus is stylized: recognizable, with readable tentacles, but not hyperrealistic - it works as part of the scene rather than competing with the stone. The seashell at the base holds a single 1.5mm natural champagne sapphire. The blackened finish on the silver sharpens all of it - the sculptural detail reads clearly against the darkened surface.
