Citrine in a Silver Foliage Setting - Leaves All the Way Up to the Chain
The name Lace comes from how the setting is built. Multiple layers of individually detailed silver leaves arrange themselves around a 6mm round pale yellow citrine in a dense, overlapping composition - lace-like in its intricacy, botanical in its reference. What makes Lace distinct from most leaf-set pendants is that the foliage doesn't stop at the stone: the bail above is formed entirely from leaves as well, carrying the design through to the point where the piece meets the chain.
The citrine is a natural yellow - transparent, with the clean warmth of early morning light. At 6mm round cabochon it sits compact within the setting, which at 27×13mm frames it without overwhelming it.
Lace starts as a hand-sculpted wax model in our Bali workshop. Each leaf is carved in wax before casting, then the piece is finished by hand in oxidized 925 sterling silver. The patina settles into the recesses between the leaves, sharpening the contrast between the raised surfaces and the depths of the composition.
