Her ring

The moonstone sits as the full moon with a crescent to either side, so the three phases read across the top of the ring. The band carries bark texture and small leaves. The stone is a marquise cabochon, 8×4 mm, domed rather than faceted, so the blue flash travels as one sheen instead of scattering.

His ring

Wide and substantial — the weight is part of the point — with the same botanical motifs running around the band and the triple moon set across the middle. Where her ring holds the moonstone, his has a silver center, so the three phases read as metal on metal.

Both rings are oxidized and then polished, which means the darkening stays down in the folds of the texture while the raised surfaces come back bright. That contrast is what makes the branchwork and the moons legible on a band this width, and it is why the two look like a pair despite the difference in scale.

Is the men's band the same design as her ring?

Both rings carry the triple moon and the same botanical motifs. The difference is the center: her ring holds the rainbow moonstone, his has a silver center in its place. His band is also noticeably wider and heavier.

Can the men's ring be made with a moonstone too?

Yes, but as a different set. We make a version where the men's band also holds a marquise rainbow moonstone at the center of the triple moon, and it is listed separately on our site.

What does a triple moon ring symbolize?

The triple moon represents the three phases of the lunar cycle - waxing, full and waning. In Wiccan and neopagan tradition these correspond to Maiden, Mother and Crone: the three stages of a woman's life, and by extension beginning, fullness and wisdom.

Is rainbow moonstone real moonstone?

Not in the strict gemological sense. Rainbow moonstone is a trade name for white labradorite, a plagioclase feldspar. Classic moonstone is orthoclase, a potassium feldspar. Both belong to the feldspar family and both are sold as moonstone, but they are distinct minerals.

Is moonstone durable enough for everyday wear?

Labradorite, including rainbow moonstone, rates 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. That makes it suitable for regular wear but softer than quartz, sapphire or diamond. It should be protected from hard impacts and removed before manual work, gym sessions or swimming.

What does oxidized sterling silver mean?

Oxidation is a chemical surface treatment that darkens silver. Both rings are oxidized and then polished, so the darkening stays in the recesses of the texture while the raised surfaces come back bright. It is not a plating and will not flake off.

How do you care for a moonstone ring?

Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam and household chemicals. Store separately from harder stones to prevent scratching. Remove before swimming, cleaning or heavy lifting.
