Lapis Lazuli is one of the oldest stones known to man.
Believed to bring wisdom and truth, it was one of the stones used in Yemenite High Priest’s breastplate (along with carnelian, gold and onyx). Its most common colors are blue, white, or a combination of both. The ancient Egyptians were among the first to use Lapis Lazuli as a pigment in art and in cosmetics. The stone’s name comes from a Persian word meaning “blue stone”.
Lustrous Lapis lazuli gemstone is known to endow its wearer with wisdom, honor and power. Little wonder many ancient emperors had it embedded in their crowns. This precious blue jewel is an excellent activator of the intelligence of the inner mind, as well a potent stimulator for the quest for knowledge.
The design and crafting of the Ra were done by our master jeweler, using only the finest gemstone and sterling silver in it to create an exemplary picture of what style and substance look like.
The finishing of the Ra ring was done using the oxidized finishing to give the ring an antique look.

This is a very cool ring. The lapis stone and rubies are of good quality. The lapis is deep even blue with specks of pyrite. The rubies are bright red and add sparkle. The silver work is excellent especially the descending sun rays on the sides of the ring. Even the shank is detailed. Great job!
